Report a problem

The best place is a GitHub issue, where others can find the answer too. You can also write to hello@extynt.com. This is a free project, so replies can take a while.

Say what you asked for, what happened and which After Effects, extynt and operating system versions you use. Link to anything large, like a screen recording. Issues on GitHub are public: leave out anything private.

Where to find your files

The extynt chat log

In the extynt panel, open the Chats view and save the chat log. It is a file you save yourself. It can contain your prompts and project details, so read it and remove anything private before you share it.

After Effects crash logs

macOS: ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports. In Finder choose Go, then Go to Folder, and paste the path. Include the newest file whose name starts with “After Effects” (.ips or .crash).
Windows: %APPDATA%\Adobe\After Effects\<version>\ (paste it into the File Explorer address bar). The version folder is named after your release, for example 26.x for After Effects 2026. Look for a logs folder inside it.

Adobe changes these locations between releases. If a folder is empty or missing, send what you can find and say so.

Your project (optional)

Only if we ask or you are comfortable sharing it: in After Effects choose File, then Save As, then Save a Copy, and send the .aep through a private share link, not a public issue. Your project may contain your client's work, so remove anything you do not want us to see.
