how it decides

How extynt decides

Around the main AI agent there are many small questions with a short list of answers: which installed effect does this phrase name, which font is meant, is the job finished. extynt asks each one in a typed, checkable form and takes the answer from the best source available. It works with no extra model at all.

Three tiers, in order

  1. A decision model (optional). A small model built to answer closed questions. Supported: Jev from TypeSafe AI, any server that speaks the System One wire (often a local server that needs no key), any OpenAI-compatible endpoint with strict JSON-schema output, and Cloudflare Workers AI. Add one in the panel's Settings, under Decision model, or ask a connected agent to set one up: it opens a one-time link on your own computer where you paste the key, so the key never goes through the chat.
  2. Your own chat model, for a couple of decisions, and only when it supports structured output.
  3. The deterministic tier. Offline and free. It always has an answer, so a decision never fails for lack of a model.

A model's answer is only used if it clears a confidence bar; below it, the answer is dropped and the next tier decides. When no candidate fits, the effect, control, font and property questions can answer “none” instead of forcing a match. That is a rule in the question, not a guarantee.

Long lists, such as your installed effects, their controls and your fonts, are split into groups and run as a tournament, so a model can pick reliably from hundreds of options.

Do I need a decision model? No. It is optional, and extynt works without one.

Languages

  • You can chat with the agent in any language your own model speaks.
  • extynt's own built-in understanding of requests, the offline deterministic tier, reads six languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. It decides which effect, control, font or property you mean, whether a request is a drawn scene, how to route it and similar questions. Accents, full-width characters and French elision are handled.
  • The panel speaks English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. It follows After Effects' interface language, and you can pick another in the panel's Settings.

Jev and TypeSafe AI are named only as a supported option. extynt is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TypeSafe AI, Cloudflare or any other provider named here. See Trademarks.
